Jack and Sarah owe their story to Fourth of July and crowded Oakland backyards. What started as a chance encounter as college kids at the University of Pittsburgh would take them from Bremen, Germany to Madison, Wisconsin to Newark, New Jersey, and everywhere in between. They would take countless planes and trains and buses to see each other, before finally ending up in New York City.

December– Sarah’s favorite time of year in the city. After brunch at their neighborhood spot, they took a walk back through Central Park. It was a walk they had taken hundreds of times - with their dog Oliver in the spring when the magnolia trees were blooming, in the summer to picnic in Sheep’s Meadow with their friends, in the fall when the leaves changed on the trees over the Mall. But on this day, Sarah noticed a Christmas tree on their familiar path. On it, a sign read “life is made of small moments like this” – a quote from a favorite DJ. Jack proposed in the place that made up so many of their favorite memories. Later that evening, he surprised Sarah with a party at a bar on the Upper East Side with all of their friends who traveled near and far to celebrate them. We’re so lucky for all of the places we’ve been and all of the people in our lives that have made our story so special.
